The most magical time of the year
Hello everyone!
It's right round the corner... My favourite time of the year... Christmas! I think there are two types of people in the world, those that love Christmas and those that don't. I am definitely the side of love - to the extreme. If it was acceptable to have a fully decorated tree up in the house, watch Christmas movies and sing 'Fairytale of New York' all year round then this girl would.
I think the reason why I adore this time of year so much is because you can't help but feel happy, it's the one time of year when people come together. The big mugs of hot chocolate, jumpers, dark lipsticks and cold weather. I admit I get overexcited about it all but nothing beats the feeling of anticipation.
This year nothing is different, I'm already in Christmas mode, which is why the other day I caved in, I bought some bits for December daily, I ordered a few things and as soon as they arrived got to work.
I am fairly new to scrapbooking, like I've mentioned before and I'm still unsure whether or not I've bitten off more than I can chew with this project but I'm hoping the idea that I have in my head translates in to scrapbook pages. So here's the low down of how I'm setting out my December daily: it will be in the album I have used for 2015, I am using a variety of page protectors, bits from the Simple Stories Claus&co collection as well as pulling things from my own stash.
So far I have created "foundation pages" and title cards for each day. My aim is to take at least one photo per day and have even written down ideas for photos so that way I know if all else fails I've got ideas to fall back on.
Some ideas, that may work for you;
1 - Decorations, this could be your tree at home, at work or even the lights on the house that always puts your lonely string of lights around the window to shame.
2 - Wrapping presents (bonus points if you include a piece of the wrapping paper you use in your album), I make an evening of it, music and sellotape at the ready and I'm set to face the wrapping.
3 - Candles, nothing beats a scented candle, so snap a few of your favourite scents - also good for remembering the name of them when you need to rebuy them.
4 - Blankets, what's winter without huge soft blankets to wrap up?! Favourite movies, for me it has to be the Santa Claus movies, 1, 2 and 3.
5- Sparkles, let's face if you ever need an excuse to wear sequins it's Christmas or you can just take pictures of the sparkle that's created when the sun hits ice or frost.
6 - Traditions, our family tradition would be 4pm Christmas Eve mass followed by a Chinese takeaway and movies or games, random but almost like a calm before the storm.

(I will include photos in my next December daily post)
So there you have it, my grand plan. I will either stick to it or spectacularly fail, either way I will love creating it.
Hope you enjoyed.
